Macworld 2012 kicked off yesterday in San Francisco. I was curious to see how the trade show was progressing after revamping its image. Macworld used to take over the whole Moscone Center, present keynotes from the likes of Steve Jobs, and launch products such as the iPhone. It now uses the much smaller Moscone West building and doesn’t attract the larger companies that used to exhibit at the trade show.
Even with the smaller footprint, there is still a lot of activity in the Apple economy. With the mass adoption of IOS devices, app and accessory companies now dominate Macworld. I wasn’t able to make it to NAMM so my goal was to talk to music-related exhibitors and explore their products. I used my iPhone video camera to interview representatives from a number of these companies.
I’d like to thank everyone who took some time to tell me about their company and products. A special thanks goes to Derrick Floyd of IK Multimedia for loaning us an [amazon_link id=”B004IA8F50″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]iRig Mic[/amazon_link] to do the interviews.
Other participants include:
Andy Simon of Blue Microphones
Eric Palonen of Sennheiser
Julia McCracken of CD Baby
Jason Ferguson of Sonoma Wire Works
