Rachel Croft, a singer-songwriter based in York, UK shares her latest track Deep Water. According to the artist, the song is about getting to know someone new and you can tell it could be pretty serious, but it’s still so delicate and unsure. Her sound engineer and co-producer describes the song as Countrindie Polk music.
Deep Water is delivered with the similar subtle vocal power of K.D. Lang or Loquat’s Kylee Swenson and becomes much more than your usual indie-folk song building with both vocals and instrumentation. Croft is also a clever wordsmith who often rhymes words with themselves during this optimistic conversation. The late-summer vibe of this track will keep the season alive as the days get shorter and new relationships emerge.
