Coldair – SXSX Artist Preview

http://youtu.be/WduzCH_BMck

Coldair is the brainchild of Tobiasz Bili?ski from Warsaw, Poland. Currently considered one of the most talented independent artists in Poland, Bili?ski confirms this by composing original music and lyrics, while arranging and producing most tracks by himself. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, Coldair performs in a variety of ways – from computer playback to guitar-based solo sets, even an epic 7-piece band with brass and other instruments, his performances display a wide range of talent.

As a lead-up to South by Southwest, The Noise Room is talking to bands and artists performing at SXSW. If you’ll be playing at SXSW and want to be interviewed, please contact us. Here’s what Coldair had to say:

What do like most about playing at SXSW?

I love the atmosphere of international music exchange and that the people here truly appreciate good music! And the weather! Austin is great!

Are you out promoting anything?

My new album “Whose Blood” and my new songs which I will be playing live on the 12th.

Are there any bands or musicians that you are looking forward to checking out?

The line-up is overwhelming! If I just walk around, I’ll most certainly find something great.

What are the challenges for you or your band when playing at SXSW?

Distance. It’s far away from Poland and is still fairly new territory for me.

Do you have any survival tips for those attending SXSW?

Not really, it’s hard even for me!

Are you more “stick around, check out music and enjoy the scene” or “play as many shows as possible then get out”?

The first. I’ll take it easy, enjoy what SXSW has to offer, and hopefully bring a lot of people out to my show!

What are your SXSW Show Times?

March 12th @ Stephen F’s, 8:00 – 8:40 PM

Is there anything you’d like to add?

Definitely – please spread the word and bring me a nice crowd! That would be the best Welcome-to-America gift ever!
