At NAMM this year we were very fortunate to have John Ganem shoot and edit a number videos showing the latest gear. John has edited television shows including CSI, Person of Interest, and most recently, Defiance. His documentary work on Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream was nominated for an Oscar and an Emmy. John’s wife describes him as “a filmmaker who just happens to be a musician, obsessed with the minutiae level of instruments, and the ongoing search for ‘that sound’.”
This was John’s first time at NAMM and he put together this mini-documentary showing his adventures. Whether you go to NAMM each year or you’ve never been, I feel this video captures the spirit and sounds of this amazing industry-only trade show. I’d like to personally thank John for all of his efforts in providing a unique perspective and seeking out companies the big distribution chains seem to overlook.
