I usually prefer quiet New Year’s Eve celebrations with friends and family however this year I was convinced to try something different. The Mermen, a band I’ve seen in the past, we’re planning their annual New Year’s Eve tradition by playing at the Park Chalet in San Francisco. As described by the Mermen, the Park Chalet is “spacious-yet-cozy” and provided some great food before the music began. The band’s bass player Allen Whitman, who was on break from his European / North American tours with Joe Satriani, played that night as well as Jim Thomas, Jennifer Burnes and Martyn Jones.
